AN EVENING OF DANCE FILMS

In collaboration with Choreoscope – the Dance Film Festival from Barcelona, TranziT presents some of the most significant contemporary dance films and authors, in a joint selection curated by Loránd János, Artistic Director of Choreoscope, and Ivana Peranić, Artistic Director of TranziT.

Five short dance films will be screened, with a total duration of 88 minutes. These are films based on the language of movement and motion. Movement is the essential ingredient of transformation — the force through which the world continues or survives.

It is a universal language subconsciously imprinted in our DNA, breaking down all artificial verbal barriers. When you hear rhythm, you move. When you cannot use words to communicate, you use your body.

When the movement of our body merges with cinematography, one of the most original film genres is born: the dance film. While words can deceive, the language of the body never lies.

Choreoscope is a Dance Film Festival based in Barcelona. It is dedicated not only to dance enthusiasts but also to those who appreciate quality cinematography. Films know no borders—just like dance. There is a shared language that connects them: the universal language of movement.
The Choreoscope Dance Film Festival from Barcelona is for those who continue, move, and evolve.

Picturam

The film is inspired by the theme of Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper. The painting becomes only a starting point of inspiration; we try to transfer it, transform it and find a way to it through the language of film. It explores boundaries in the presence of several objects – the pictorial composition, the five dancers, their bodies and their movement.
