A creative game as a starting point for dramatic games

The workshop is intended for educators, classroom teachers, Croatian language teachers, dramaturge group leaders; to all who want to play, entertain, develop creativity and improve communication skills.

FILODRAMMATIC, Korzo 28, Rijeka, Sat 21 – Sun 22 April 2012, both days from 10.00 to 16.00
The workshop will be held by Maja Stanković, prof.

The play is a child’s natural way of realizing oneself in real life and the world. Through the game, the child experiences different emotions, the child explores and learns. The game creates tension and excitement and the motivation for it comes from the inside, so it is always spontaneous and free, and communication in it is sincere. The game is also an integral part of the creative process.

Everything is possible in the game, just like in a drama game. In both types of the game creativity and creation are allowed. In this way it is possible to change perspectives, to look at the same things and situations from different angles, and to contemplate them, spaces, objects, situations, words, and people. All these entities get quite new meanings and functions. A child or a young person during a game can become and be someone else, someone who has always wanted to be or someone completely different from himself, and thus find out who he really is in real life.

What is the difference between creative and drama play? What are the possibilities of expression through a creative and dramatic game? How to use a creative game as the starting point for creating a dramatic game? What can all be developed through this process in young people and children, and what will ultimately enable them to have a better and more fulfilled life? The questions asked will be answered by this workshop which includes dramatic games, exercises and improvisations; movement, sound, music and words; alone, in pairs and in the group, and through the famous poetry and prose.
