Leader: Jorge Correa Bethencourt

This workshop offers participants the opportunity to explore the dramatic possibilities of the body and space in ways that capture specific scene concepts and the possibilities of their physical, concrete applications. This approach puts the creativity of the actor in the center of theatrical creativity before the director occupies the actor’s field.
Knowledge and learning techniques, as well as in music, multiplies the ability of actors/performers, and helps them to do what they want and not just what they can. In this way, the technique opens the door to much more freedom and imagination, and much more clarity in the performance itself.
Dramatic corporal mime is a clear body technique that allows the understanding of the actor’s body and space on the stage so that the actor can put his body in the service of his imagination. Participants will work on this technique, improvisation, composition and repertoire of etude/pieces/forms that contain the underlying principles of this discipline.
WE WILL FAMILIARIZE AND SCRUTINIZE:
- different aspects of the movement such as mobility, design, and posture
taking examples of movements from other arts such as sculpture, painting and architecture, where a certain limit is a precondition for creation. - sense of space using space, orientation and geometry as well as the metaphorical use of space on the scene.
- body articulation and the use of dynamics and rhythm that will enable us to clearly “fracture the movement”, and to develop our own mobile statue.
- work with the veil to relieve body expression.
- the scene causality and focus on the individual, duet and group performances of our performers.
- reverse metaphors and the use of props as dramatic extensions of the body.
- using props as dramatic extensions of the body.
- for young performers (17+) who already have a certain stage experience and knowledge and who are educating and developing themselves in this direction.
- professional artists – actors, performers, dancers, circus artists, performers, directors, choreographers, dramatists, pedagogues, singers, visual and visual artists, sculptors and all those who have performance in the core of their profession.
For the purpose of this workshop you should take an outfit in which you are abble to move freely and stretch, warm socks and a bottle of water.
